Omnisens officially announces ‘ODAS’, its new generation of DAS interrogator for the Test and Measurement market

Omnisens SA, the Swiss supplier of distributed fiber optic sensing systems and instruments, has announced the release of ODAS, its new family of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) interrogators.

“ODAS is an amazingly performant new device which brings us a versatile acoustic sensing platform. Its performance and open format will not only help us consolidating our leadership position in the O&G and Power Cable markets but, also allow us pushing boundaries and opening new sensing possibilities,” says Matthieu Currat, C.O.O. at Omnisens SA. ODAS has been deployed in a major European city, where it is continuously monitoring since months a section of the urban fiber optic network which follows and crosses roads and railways both within the busy town center and in more remote and quieter suburbs. The diversity of environmental conditions is used by Omnisens to stress the new software and further investigate the novel concepts brought by ODAS….ODAS represents the culmination of four years of intense engineering efforts by Omnisens, leveraging on the latest advancements in the field made by the University of Alcala in Spain, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and the  University of Applied Science (HE-ARC), both in Switzerland.
