The Fiber Optic Sensing Association (FOSA) today awarded its annual Champion of Innovation Award to Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) Administrator Howard “Skip” Elliott.
PHMSA awarded the University of California, Berkeley with US$250 000 from its Competitive Academic Agreement Program. FOSA member Dr. Soga is the Donald H. McLaughlin Chair in Mineral Engineering and a Chancellor’s Professor at UC Berkeley.

Dr. Kenichi Soga and the University of California, Berkeley received a $250,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) on August 17.
