||Concrete is the main construction material of large civil infrastructure objects like water dams, tunnels, bridges and high-rise building. Monitoring is crucial at various stages during the long lifetime of several decades of these structures.
This webinar demonstrates how distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) can be used in load tests and for long term monitoring of concrete structures to assess their structural integrity.
• Learn how fiber optic sensors can be embedded and surface mounted
• Experience how cracks, leakages and heat spots can be detected, localized, identified and quantified with DFOS
• See how DFOS enable monitoring without closure of traffic lanes or tunnel tubes
Presented by FOSA Technology Committee member Dr. Werner Lienhart. Dr. Lienhart studied surveying in UK and Austria and is now full professor at Graz University of Technology, Austria. Prior to his university position, he was product manager at Leica Geosystems in Switzerland. Werner has more than 20 years of experience in fiber optic sensing, published more than 100 scientific articles and is president of the Austrian Geodetic Commission.
